Hello fellow students, I would like to welcome you all to the 11’ fall semester here at UW Fox Valley.

Many of you are in your second year, others are brand new faces.

However all of you are essential parts to your others as well as your own college experience.

To build those experiences into something great and memorable, there are many opportunities and tools that you may not know that are available for you.

There is a plethora of clubs and organizations which are always seeking new members and of course you always have the option of creating your own club and receiving funding.

If you’re interested, the Campus Activities Board (which is completely run by students) has a great schedule lined up, with everything from comedians to educational seminars about abuse.

If you’re sick of high costs of education, or have an interest in getting a say in your education, Student Association itself is always looking for new student voices in its Senate and has several committees and open seats.

Every month we plan to issue a “Heads up” here in the journal, to give you all an idea what’s going on in Student Association, especially if it affects your pocket book.

We are just finished our involvement in Oktoberfest, raising money for Student Scholarships, as well as holding our memorial for Garrick Eppinger, a former Student Association Executive Director who died in Afghanistan.

Going a little further back we approved we established a program to help lower the costs of Bus Fare for students of UW Fox.

If you haven’t seen already, SA has also been in the process of gathering input for the selection of a new Dean for the campus.

Also over the summer we were able to get approval for the creation of a Student Lounge, which we are in the process of designing as you read this.

Some of the things on SA’s table for the near future include a potential requested student subsidy to the planetarium for new laser equipment, a Veterans Day memorial event, as well as a round of upcoming elections.

All in all, we have had a good summer, a great first month, and with your help and interest an amazing year ahead of us all.

If you are interested in any information regarding SA or CAB, or if you have concerns, questions or ideas you can Email myself at

Thank you,

Rhys Kuzdas
SA President
