UW-Fox women’s volleyball team finished the regular season with a 2-63 conference record and 10-9 overall.

They went up against UW-Washington in their last home game on Oct. 12 leaving with a conference loss in four games.

The Wildcats won sets one and two 25-20 and 25-16, while the Cyclones fought hard and took the third set 25-19.

The Wildcats then defeated the Cyclones 25-16 to take the match.

With an overall of score of 10-9, Coach Tracy Natz expected more wins.

“I believe that we were really talented we just had to go out and prove it, but we lacked confidence and struggled at times,” Natz said.

Natz is expecting four returning players and hoping that with experienced sophomores they will grab more wins next season.

“We look to improve on recording more wins and work on being more consistent with our intensity,” Natz said.

Alicia Proft was a key player throughout the season.

Against UW-Marshfield Oct. 5, she recorded 20 kills and 6 blocks.

Proft helped by having 15 kills and 13 blocks in the Cyclones’ last home game against the Wildcats.

Also paving the way for the team was Jenna Ambrosius. During an away game with UW-Richland, she came through with 42 assists.

Other key contributors include Jenny Schaefer and Claire Huelsbeck.

In a game versus UW-Baraboo the team led with 18 and 15 digs and again on Oct. 12 reaching 16 and 15 digs each.
